Exiting Egypt
Exiting Egypt —
with mercy and compassion,
also fear and fragility, there comes
despair and brokenness.
We whine, we cry,
forgetting what we longed
for and why we left.
Along the way we have
come to know the Golden Calf.
Remembering the tablets at Sinai
were given to us at birth, there is
no longer a motivation to go back.
The God of Infinite Wisdom carries
us forward –
with Love.
