My name is Todd Greenberg.
Here is a little about me and what this blog is about.
Discovering the deeper self through poetry and writing started 5 years ago. My seeking to “know” God has evolved through life's struggles and joys for 50 years. The challenges along the way are the human experience we all are engaged in to unveil to us our individual journeys to the Divine. The dynamic flow of life is the path to hearing the still small voice. Within that we come to experience Grace, Love and Beauty.
Accessing the still small voice, when I take the time away from the mind activity of thinking comes when I stop to say “Here I am, here I am - hineni.hineni, I love you God, I love you God.” The mind chatter disappears, the intelligence of the heart comes apparent, love and beauty are revealed as I experience everything as blessed.
As part of the spiritual path to wholeness, I have gotten better at living with less anxiety and judgement of myself and others, being more at peace, accepting the world as it is. Being able to live more in the moment each day, more of my feelings and mind chatter flow through me, feeling them, thinking them and not holding on to them.
So I write about this journey, the anxieties, the past, the now, the future, the hopes, the yearning for God, for an open heart, for love, beauty and grace.
In therapy over the years and through prayer, worship, meditation, mystical readings, Torah Study, Kabbalah class and many, many discussions with friends poetry has showed itself. As the writing evolves the poetry is a discovery into what has been waiting to be revealed from within and without that speaks through me.
I send some of the poems out to friends who have come to find resonance and meaning in them for themselves and have shared them with others as well. Perhaps a poem, a word, a sentence will resonate with you.
Friends have asked for a book, pamphlet or chapbook. So, I thought a web-site with an invite for you to receive some of them periodically is a good way to start. Most of the time I will send them Sunday mornings. There may be a mid-week sharing on occasion.
In the future I will be adding some of my work to Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. I have started a Substack page as another avenue for access. There is a link below.
I am grateful to both the Boulder Jewish News and David Fellows for publishing my work over the last year and a half and to Ritualwell, an initiative for Reconstructioninst Judaism who have graciously done so as well. I will continue to publish with them both. Links to the work and those web-sites are below.
I am excited to do this and look forward to hearing your thoughts and feelings about what you see, read, think and feel.
Blessings,
Todd
