Except, Except

Having hardly anything in common
with myself —
I keep trying,
promising that tomorrow
will be the day
Oor maybe the next

A fool, some would say,
to act this way —
except, except.

If Abraham is a myth,
a created story,
then Adam and Eve are too,
so then must I also be.

If we are created
in God's image —
is that, then, also a myth?
