Outside, in

The yarrow stalks of the I Ching
help with decision making
The Tarot reader gives answers
to what we seek
The astrologer talks of possibilities
The psychic tells what they see
The therapist offers advice

Circling around and behind
the shadow’s cry,
Showing me the path inside

Throwing the sticks —
The psychic predicts —
Tarot reader sees the trickster —

Astrologer says the stars
aligned when you came into being

Your work is here now —
waiting to be seen,
says the therapist

Within the wounds and shadows of time,
Looking outside and in,
around and ahead,
coming back again

Now I know
I can simply
let life be

As if for the very first time —
It is good, very, very good
From the outside, in
