Darkened Wood

being vulnerable
takes a lifetime
to walk

the darkened wood
is not what I seek

splintered pieces
of untouched light
hidden deep —
safe in the shadows

walking slowly
in the tears
of things

holding the self
harmless 

letting go
of outcomes

moving gently
toward the quiet

the beauty
of the darkened wood
returns
