“Truth”

I attempt to share my experience of God through what I write.
It’s one way that I convey what I know as truth.
This poem is about experiences that I have had recently
during services, in meditation, at a Shiva and in Kabbalah study;

In worship, in prayer
my heart smiled.
Was told: all is okay.

I felt joy in my heart,
was told: you can have
this always.

Having been told:
There is a plan,
this I accept —
but do not understand.

When in study as prayer,
I have come to know
beauty and light
everywhere.

Seeing streams of light
rise up behind us,
humbled and in awe,
not knowing where they go —

I bow to God
with tears in my eyes,
as the streams of light head
back to the Infinite Unknown .
